Launching our first kids collection

At Mayajoy, we've always believed in the power of colour to elevate everyday life. Our homeware collections have been designed to bring joy, creativity and vibrance into your home- and now, we're bringing that same philosophy to our brand-new kids' apron collection. 

This collection is extra special because it's been designed with a little help from two of my favourite young creatives- my daughters. Aged just 8 & 6, their ever confidence in their abilities is so inspiring and spurs me on to bring you joyful prints and patterns that will lift your spirits and add a dose of happy to your day. 

These new aprons are more than just practical kitchen essentials; they are the result of imaginative and creative overflow. They are the dreams on to paper from innocent souls who want to share their love of illustrations with the world. I am sure that you will agree that these colourful prints are so sweet- would the special people in your lives enjoy them?

Brainstorming sessions, hands-on design and most importantly, family fun is what has bought these ideas to life. When my daughters and I sat down to create these aprons, we wanted them to be full of life and colour, just like the little ones who will wear them.

The Story behind the mini collection

As a mum and designer, I've always wanted to instill a love for creativity in my children- whether it's through art, cooking or simply experimenting with colours and patterns. I noticed how much joy they got from designing alongside me and the look of pride they had when they showed me their illustrations. I thought how awesome it would be for them to see their own ideas come to life and share it with other children. Not only have they designed these patterns, they have also chosen the colours and to top it off, have even had a huge input in some of the recipes that we have created and shared with our newsletter subscribers. 

Working on this project and watching my girls work their magic, has reminded me of how important it is to create space for children to express themselves, and that's exactly what these aprons are all about.
