Hi friends,Β I'm Maya- mum of 2 girls, dreamer, designer and firm believer in the mood-boosting power of colour.

From the age of 12, I knew I wanted to work in the design industry and create beauty that touched people's lives. Inspired by Tricia Guild, Laura Ashley and Cath Kidston, I studied Interior Design before earning a Masters in Textiles & Surface Pattern. I later began my career with Laura Ashley as an Interior Designer in London, where I fell in love with classic British style, and learned how thoughtful design can shape the way we feel in our homes.

Over the years, my love of design has become intertwined with two other passions: food and storytelling. Some of my happiest memories centre around family gatherings, good food, music and conversations that lasted long into the night. Today, those experiences continue to inspire my work, from hand-drawn homeware collections to food demonstrations, recipes, writing and creative projects that celebrate connection, heritage and everyday joy.

As a proud dual heritage British-Jamaican woman, I am fascinated by the ways food, culture and home shape our sense of identity. Through Mayajoy, I explore these themes through colour-rich design, thoughtful writing and products created to bring people together.

When I became a mum, my focus shifted to raising my daughters but the dream never left me. In 2021, I finally took the leap, determined to live by example and show my girls that no dream is ever too far out of reach. And so, Mayajoy was born.

Mayajoy is more than colourful homeware. It's an invitation to slow down, to savour the now and discover beauty in everyday life. Whether through a beautifully laid table, a family recipe, a colourful apron or a story shared over dinner, I believe colour and togetherness has the power to uplift, inspire and connect us all.

Thank you for supporting our family led, joy-first brand. Every order, message and conversation reminds me why I started this journey in the first place.

Here's to meals that linger a little longer, cakes baked just because and homes that hold laughter and love. Lots of love, Maya x
